Hi, thanks for any help that you can offer.
My situation, I currently receive ESA Support Group and pip £21 week for mobility. I have one child in school. My brain does not work so well these days as I have ME/brainfog so I'm hoping for some sums done for me on here maybe.
Incoming now as a lone parent:
£124 week Esa support group 6448 pa
£21 week pip mobility. 1092pa
£63 week child tax credit. 3276
£80 month child benefit 960
Full council tax benefit. 1400pa??
Incoming now pa £13,176 per annum.
I have no mortgage to pay on my house. Own it outright.
If my boyfriend were to move in would I automatically loose my esa support group payment and we would claim wtc as a couple instead as he works? His income is £19,000 working over 40 hours a week and he pays out child maintenance for his two children. I don't know if his whole income of £19,000 is used for tax credits purposes or the child maintenance that he pays out is taken into account.
I want to know how I will be affected financially if we do decide to make the move and move in together one day. I'm not good at change and would like to know exactly what I would be letting myself in for and what he would be letting himself in for too.
As a couple with myself unable to work and only my boyfriend working would we qualify for the disability element of working tax credits as I receive pip mobility normal rate. I find this all so confusing.
I understand that we would probably need to pay full council tax with my boyfriends income.
Thank you.

If your ESA is contribution based you would still receive this as well as your partner's income.Forums can be/are a good guide to entitlement and it is good practice to back it up with clarification from the relevant department/specialist with written confirmation to safeguard yourself.0

I worked part-time before being unable to work due to illness so do not qualify for contribution based Esa. I could not still receive esa income based when in the support group? His income would stop me receiving Esa I assume? Thanks.0

So you would at least have:
Tax Credits £55 per week (£2860 pa)
Child Benefit £20.50 per week (£1066 pa)
PIP £21.55 per week (1120.60 pa)
You would also receive some help towards your Council Tax.Forums can be/are a good guide to entitlement and it is good practice to back it up with clarification from the relevant department/specialist with written confirmation to safeguard yourself.0 -

Surely, the OP's boyfriends income would be too high?
Based on an income of £19,000 gross for a family with 1 child they would receive £9.96 per week due to the disability premium in their personal allowance and based on a CT bill of £1,400 pa.
This doesn't take into consideration the reduced percentage for the OP's area.Forums can be/are a good guide to entitlement and it is good practice to back it up with clarification from the relevant department/specialist with written confirmation to safeguard yourself.0
