IF YOU WANT SOMEONE ELSE TO SPEAK ON YOUR BEHALF ON THE TELEPHONE REGARDING TAX OR NATIONAL INSURANCE YOU WILL NEED TO SEND IN FORM 64-8 (64 DASH 8) THIS WILL GIVE THEM AUTHORITY TO SPEAK. THE TELEPHONE ADVISOR WILL ALWAYS CHECK THESE DETAILS BEFORE SPEAKING TO A THIRD PARTY. YOU CAN REQUEST THIS FORM VIA THE TELEPHONE OR DOWNLOAD IT FROM WWW.HMRC.GOV.UK.
THE TAX PAYER CAN ALSO GIVE AUTHORITY ON THE TELEPHONE AND PASS THE PHONE OVER (AFTER A SECURITY CHECK)TO THE THIRD PARTY PERSON.
AS A ONE OFF THE TAX PAYER CAN PHONE THE REVENUE AND NAME A PERSON FOR A ONE OFF CALL. THE THIRD PARTY CAN THEN PHONE UP AND DISCUSS THE TAX PAYERS RECORD AFTER A SECURITY CHECK AND THERE IS A NOTE ON THE TAX PAYERS ACCOUNT SHOWING THAT PERMISSION HAS BEEN GIVEN.
NO ONE CAN SEEK ADVICE UNTILL AFTER A SECURITY CHECK.0 -
Tax Credits are a very complex subject and far too complex to advise on here as everyone is different. Everyone is entitled to the Tax Personal Allowance whatever they do. I would suggest you telephone your local tax office or tax credit helpline as they will need to go into your personal details which are not advisable to be discussed on here.0

If I get taxed when I'm supposed to be, can I claim the tax back in my next pay cheque or will I have to wait till I get my P60? I get paid tomorrow so will find out if I've been taxed from my job but I've already been taxed by one employer so my P60 wouldn't show everything would it?0

Another thing you can do with the tax office is have an 'in principle' conversation with them. DS2 has 3 jobs even though he's still in the 6th form, 2 weekly paper rounds and one at the cinema. He got sent a form by the tax office asking for details of all his previous jobs which he was flummoxed by, because they're all current jobs. I knew it would take him forever to get round to phoning, so I phoned and said "I know you can't discuss my son's tax affairs with me, but this is the situation, he's not going to earn more than his taxable allowance, please tell me what he needs to do". And they did, and they told me what they would do too. (I really couldn't see the local newsagents or the agent for the free paper being TOO impressed at having to deduct tax from £5 each week!)Signature removed for peace of mind0
