System Restore gone AWOL

I just tried to use System Restore but got a pop-up message:
"This application has failed to start because framedyn.dll was not found. Re-installing this application may fix this problem"
I have just uninstalled Norton in favour of PC Guard (free from Virgin my ISP). Could this have been the problem?
How do I fix this?

Chippy,
I followed the link and tried to implement the instructions. However, I could not find the framedyn.dll file in the folder, so could not proceed any further. It simply doesn't appear to be on the computer!
Any advice as to where I go next?

Download it from here. That's the latest version.

Chippy,
You are a genius! It now works.
I have a horrible feeling this problem came about after uninstalling Norton.
At the same time this happened too:
I recently upgraded my Firefox browser to the latest version, which seems to have disturbed retrieval of screenshots from folders.
Essentially, I store screenshots of newspaper articles in various folders in My Documents. Usually, to retrieve one of these, I simple click on the stored document and the article will open as I had seen it on screen.
However, a rather annoying new thing is now happening. When I click on the stored article, it opens as usual, but then is minimised, with a pop up box declaring:
"Windows cannot find 'C:\Documents and Settings\User\My Documents\(name of folder)\(name of stored file)'.
Make sure you typed the name correctly and then try again. To search for a file, click the Start button, and then click Search."
If I click on the OK button, the file once again becomes maximised; if I simply ignore the prompt and click on the minimised file, it also becomes maximised. The best approach is the latter, since once you exit the document, you are taken back to the folder in which you stored it and it is highlighted, so you can tell which you have just accessed. If you straightaway press OK, this does not happen.
Using the older version of Firefox, this did not happen. No stupid message, no need to press OK. How can I eliminate the pop up box?
PS Using XP.
Any suggestions? PS IE saved screen shots are OK.0 -
What is the file extension of these files that you call 'screenshots'? Screenshots are normally images (.jpeg, .bmp, .gif etc), however from your description it sounds like you're using File - Save Page in Firefox or IE. If this is case, post exactly how you are saving the page. And post the extension shown in (name of stored file).
Depending on which type of file it is, one of the file association fixes at http://www.dougknox.com/index.html should fix it.0 -

Chippy,
You are right. I am using the save as prompt. They get saved as Firefox documents. They didn't used to generate this pop up box, but were returned to the screen as they were when saved.0 -
