Should I get a credit card???

in Credit cards
Hi. I'm after some advice please.
I don't currently have a credit card, but I'm about to have about 3 months of cash flow issues while I move house & change jobs. Not overall solvency, just some payments that will need to go out before payday etc. I was wondering about applying for a credit card. I'd pay a card off in full each month - it's only to cover timing of payments rather than the cost of them. I don't have any other debts apart from an overdraft.
However, I've just signed up to credit expert, and there's an entry on my file that I'm disputing. I've got evidence that the entry shouldn't be there (an error that EE made in 2011 which they agreed was wrong, but obviously haven't updated my credit file to reflect this), but using the eligibility checker it seems that my rating is affected and the cards I may get are quite limited. I don't know how long it will take for this correction to appear on my file?
As I'm going to be moving house in the next 6 weeks, I was hoping to apply before I move as I know that's a factor.
So my question really is to you money experts out there. 1. Am I silly even considering a credit card just for cashflow / timing issues, and would I be better ditching the whole idea? 2. If I should go for a card should I wait until EE accept they need to change my record, and risk it being shortly after moving house instead?
Thanks in advance.

1. Nothing sily. That's what the CCs exist for.
2. You can try applying now. One credit search in your credit file(s) isn't a big deal. Just don't fall into "rejection spiral": Credit Scores0
