Which card to pair with the Amex Platinum Cashback?

Hi all, I've recently applied to the Amex platinum card. Since I'm not British they have asked me to provide a certified ID copy. I've had a credit card in the UK for the past three years and for a lot more in my home country. So my application should be well on its way after that.

In the meantime I was wondering which card would be best suited to pair it for those retailers that do not accept it. I could qualify for the Capital One Business (I am also registered as a sole trader with HMRC). That one in particular says that it gives cashback for all purchases but is aimed at those who would use it to make business expenses. Would it be fine to use it for private purchases as well?

Otherwise, could anyone recommend any other Visa/Mastercard cashback cc? I would also consider an airline one as an alternative.

The Amex is my second card application in the UK. If I apply now for a second card would that affect my score in some way?

Not being British doesn't mean they will ask for ID. Cards in other countries only matter if they are Amexes and you told Amex about them when you applied.

The online application page says "This card should only be used for business-related purchases."

There is no credit score in the UK.
