Next car ideas?
I have a 2002 VW Bora with 204,000 miles on it. It is running very well at the moment (hopefully it stays that way!!), and I have no intention of changing it soon as I am trying to save for a house.
I paid £2,500 for it a few years ago in cash and it has served me very well. However, I know it wont go on forever. If I had to change in a year or two, what car would you suggest in that price range?
Of course I'd want a car as reliable as my Bora, although that may be difficult to find.
I like saloon cars now, could never go back to a 3 door hatchback.

They stopped producing them in 2005, so it wouldn't be much of an upgrade age wise.0

I do like those

I think I would go with diesel, especially if a high miler.0 -
For the budget and your current mileage then a 2005 Bora with less than half the mileage should be fine for your needs. Although you haven't said what your needs are apart from :
£2500 price range
Saloon
Reliable as a Bora
Your more than happy with the Bora
No 3 door hatchbacks"Dream World" by The B Sharps....describes a lot of the posts in the Loans and Mortgage sections !!!0 -
£2500 should find you a decent 2.2 diesel Accord06/07 with above average miles.
Alternatively a Skoda Octavia.0 -
Change the oil no less often than every 10K and it'll happily run for 400K plus if you use half-decent PD oil.0

Passat / Bora / Jetta / Octavia with the 1.9TDI engine.
Avoid the 2.0TDI (up to about 2008 at leasT)0 -
Toyota Avensis / Corolla, Honda Accord / Civic / Jazz
Reliable and mostly inexpensive to repair compared to German cars. Won't depreciate too quickly either. Pick the right engine and you will get good MPG - even from the petrols!0
