several phone calls received

Sorry if this thread should be elsewhere, but this forum seems the best fit.

My son has phoned me to say he has received calls from three finance companies. He has not made any applications for loans. of course he is somewhat concerned, and is considering doing a check with reference agencies. He has been resident for about seen years
Apart from Experian I cannot remember what the others are, so hopefully someone will advice here.

Is he right to be concerned and what actions on his part would you recommend?

It's possible they are just trying to phone people with the same name as the debtor.

However it is definitely a good idea to check your credit reports with Experian, Equifax and CallCredit, get the £2 statutory report.

Tell your Son when they phone up just say I do not know what you are talking about, stop harassing me. Do NOT give them your personal details.
Changing the world, one sarcastic comment at a time.

Agree with this, but it's CallCredit, not CallCreate.
You can check your CallCredit report via Noddle, which is free. For Experian and Equifax get the £2 statutory report (don't pay for the score - you only need to know if there's some incorrect loan on there)
