PPI Questions dont know where to start...

I am posting this on behalf of my parents who are wondering where to start with a PPI claim, the reason they are now thinking about it is my uncle has just received a payout of £18,000 for a credit card that he was paying for years.
Now my parents have had many different credit cards over the years and she believes she may have been paying PPI on these but she cant remember all the different ones, she does bank with Llyods TSB and can contact them direct but it there any other way of finding out details of the rest?
Thanks in advance for any help.

No. You can only find out those had in the last 6 years by getting a credit report (such as Experian). However, further back than that requires your own memory.
Remember that PPI is only paid if the person borrows on the card. If the person pays off the balance each month, then PPI is not paid. No I dont think they would have been paying off the full balance every month?0

Best ring up each CC provider and see what they have left (i.e. whether they can see any records of them having an account).
If frontline staff can't help you will need to send a SAR (Subject Access Request) - there is a link on the sticky post at the top of the forum - to see what records they have left.
If they have nothing and your parents have nothing in their own archives then you will have to put it to bed as you can't get a refund of something you cannot prove you paid.
Remember also that what one person did or got is not an indication of any other event, your parents would still need to show they were miss-soldSam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:
People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.
