Out of interest, why were you on the phone to Santander? Was it related to a complaint with them? If so, they may pay your call costs. When I had a dispute with them where they were in the wrong and I had made several calls to try to get a problem sorted they paid me compensation for the problems and also refunded my call charges.Common sense?...There's nothing common about sense!0

It was actually just routine things. Asking a couple of questions about my new account being set up and things like that. That's why I didn't see it coming, but I was also just not clued up on numbers like 0845.0 -

But the high charges explain why I got through without a second of a wait every time! Had to be too good to be true!0 -
If I dial any number beginning 08, my phone company tells me the maximum price per minute and gives me the option to hang up or continue before I have spent any money on the call. My last phone company did this as well, I thought they all did. But really, the onus is on you to check beforehand.0

A few years ago I went mad texting. Totally my fault and although it was a real struggle I paid the bill (and then got a contract phone with unlimited texts, just in case, had one ever since).
As it was my fault, I didn't even begin to query whether Orange should have done this.., or that. Orange didn't tell me I was over my tariff limit.., but I knew I was texting a lot. Wouldn't have thought it was possible to build up a large bill texting, but there you go. It is once you are out of tariff.
I can also state that their website/access to accounts has not been down. I am sure if you'd have used google, you could have found out what the charge was for an 0845 number when using Orange.0 -
Just for information in case it helps next time round, Three charge just 5ppm for 0845 now on new contracts including SIM-only rolling monthly.0

I already shared a link to the forum where those of us who were affected were talking about this issue. Search Twitter for EE's "Landing Error" if you still don't believe me. My iPhone app and online account have both been unaccessible for two months, the same as loads of other users as far as I can see from Twitter and the rest of the internet.0
