Had central heating installed, is true that it will take 2 month to get certificate
Hi all,
I just got my central heating installed by some private company guy, after install, I have been told that it will take 4-6 week to get the certificate. I gave them call last week(4th week)they say it will take about 2 month. Just want to know is true that certificate take that long to come?
And I Must admit that I don't even know what certificate i going to receive?
Thanks u for reading

Assuming you used a Gas Safe- registered installer then:
'When works have been completed the installer should then produce for you a commissioning certificate such as a Benchmark certificate and notify the local authority building control department either directly, or, if a member of a Competent Person Scheme, via the scheme operator. In due course the local authority should supply you with a Building Regulations Completion Certificate that indicates compliance.'
Two months does seem a long time! This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
I had a new boiler fitted recently, and he dropped my certificate off the day after he finished the work. Two months does seem rather excessive...0
