Boiler certificate when selling

Hi all,
I'm in the process of selling my late fathers flat, and I've had this from my solicitors.
"The buyer’s solicitors have also confirmed an entry on the Local Authority Search confirms a gas warm air boiler was installed in June 2006. Please provide a copy of the Compliance Certificate you would have been provided with by the company. "
Any idea where I could get this from? It's always been owned by my dad, never the local authority so I'm puzzled! Would the managing agent (kfh) for the block know would you think? I can't find the said document in the flat.
Thanks in advance :-)

Surely if the LA search showed this up it means the installation was notified to the LA at the time.
Compliance confirmed!
Failing that, just respond "Sale of deceased's home. No documentation available. Buyer to rely on their own searches."0 -
Contact the Gas Safety Register who notified the LA after being notified by whoever installed it. The Gas Safe will have a record of your installation and should be able to provide a copy certificate.0

The reference to the local authority is the type of search, it doesn;t mean the property was ever owned by them.
My understanding is that if it was notified to the LA at the time this is evidence that it was compliant - I am not familiar with the rules as they were in 2006 but when I had my new boiler installer this year, the installer was able to also do the certification for building regs and notified to the council. I got a certificate back a few weeks later, but I can't see that there would be any record on the LA search unless your dad / his installer had done the same.
Check with your conveyancer and they should be able to explain this to the buyer. All posts are my personal opinion, not formal advice Always get proper, professional advice (particularly about anything legal!)0 -
You can get copy certificates from Corgi (or Gas Safe) which cost £40plus, so either you or your buyer can purchase one. Contact Corgi by phone or email and they will find what certificates are available by the address.
You are not under any obligation whatsoever to provide this - GM gives the best advice, as ever

I would be surprised if there is any documentation held by them from 8 years ago.
Especially since the governing body "Corgi" is now defunct.
You might have more luck with the management company.Well life is harsh, hug me don't reject me.0
