Good sign.....??

Hi all,

Well after four months of what I can only describe as house moving nightmare I received in the post the morning a request from our solicitor to transfer all funds (deposit, his fees, EA fees, stamp duty etc) as they are aiming to complete on 7th. we are hoping to exchange sometime before that but it's getting more and more likely that we will be exchanging very close to, if not on the actual 7th :/

Anyhow, as far as I know there were still a couple of enquiries pending in relation to both the house we are buying and selling.

Does anyone know if all enquiries etc would be answered and everything would be good to go before the solicitor asked for funds?

Or could he ask for funds and then for some reason the sale could still not go through?

Getting any info from either our solicitor or EA is like getting blood from a stone. I'm sick as a chip!

Any advise much appreciated. The nearer the 7th gets, the higher my stress levels are rising!

  • It's a good sign but it aint over till your solicitor confirms that exchange of contracts has taken place.

    That's the best sign!!

Do you need/want a gap between Exhange and Completion? To give notice on your rental? To book removal company? To arrange time of work? etc

How long a gap? Make sure your solicitor knows and arranges the respective dates accordingly.

Good sign? Of course. Guarantee things will conclude as planned? no.
