claiming from P2G is a laugh!

Made a claim with Myhermes not long ago, very easy and heard from them within a day. Just had to fill in my first P2G claim form for a parcel lost by Myhermes, what an absolute farce. They are asking me to confirm and prove everything even though they have all the details when I booked the parcel and the full tracking shows up when you put the tracking number in. Yet P2g are asking me for proof of collection, which depot was it last at, size of the box, weight of box, even colour of the item! It was imported direct from Ebay so all details are already in their system.

Have been using P2G to book Myhermes parcels as it's 40p cheaper at moment but I think I'll stick to Myhermes site itself from now on as I had no idea P2G make it so difficult to claim. Not keeping my fingers crossed for a positive outcome as they must be making it difficult on purpose to exploit loopholes in the process, no doubt I'll get some message telling me I have no proof it ever existed!

So just a warning to others it may be 40p more expensive but worth sticking with Myhermes.

Your experience in no way matches mine. Hermes lost a parcel, P2G did me a full refund actually while we were on livechat, I didn't even need to fill in the claim form.
The questions that get the best answers are the questions that give most detail....
  • Thanks November2, that's useful info. I use P2Go quite a lot, but when using myHermes I've always gone direct, I find their site less complicated.

After receiving a couple of not very promising emails today from P2g telling me after an investigation driver had confirmed he delivered item to 'porch' I then received one informing me my claim was successful.

Does anyone know why compensation is more than my claim? My claim was for £7.50 yet they are offering me around £9 bacs or £15 credit. It was an Ebay item £7.50 with free postage, (postage cost me £2.40)
  • I have no idea, but I'd take them up on it. Maybe they're compensating you for inconvenience or something? Seems unlikely though.
  • P2G usually pay out more than the value. I claimed for £37 last year and they sent me £45 ish from memory.
