Paying your claims company before settlement received?!?!?

Hi,
I'm a newby so be gentle:beer:
My husband just had a call from wefightanyclaim.com saying they had an offer for us from Lloyds. It would appear from reading on here that it's the standard offer when paperwork is lacking on the loans. We are fine with the amount. However, the company want us to pay them their cut now on our credit card. We said no as we have nothing official from lloyds so it seemed dodgy. We then called the Lloyds PPI claims number and were told a letter has been sent out today and all the details we were given were correct.
My question is, do we have to make this payment to the claims company upfront before we receive anything? If we don't what happens?
Any help or advise much appreciated.
Thanx
