Squeaky Stairs and Flooring

Hi All,
I have very squeaky stairs and a number of uneven floorsboards within my house. The problem is that the areas in question have carpet over them which has got a reasonable amount of life left in it. Is it possible to correct these issues?
Thanks in advance.

If you have an understairs cupboard and the underside of the stairs is exposed then just glue some small blocks of wood on each tread (step) where they meet the risers (upright section below the tread) as per pic..You could also try and hammer in the wedges further..

Speak to a carpet shop but I imagine it should be ok as overboarding/replacing the floorboards should not materially impact the room dimensions (although I am no expert).Thinking critically since 1996....0

Excellent, it's a relief to hear that these issues are fixable without having to replace the carpets.0
