Claiming PPI on a Store Card

Hi, I have got PPI on my evans store card, which I have only just recently found out about. I got the card in 1996 but at the time it was with GE Capital but it has changed twice over the last few years and it's now with a company called New Day. I have written to New Day and they have replied with a copy of their terms & conditions but the letter states that they cannot send me a copy of my original agreement as they don't have it. Does this mean that I cannot claim PPI because I don't have any details on who my PPI is with. Many Thanks

You would complain to whoever SOLD the PPI, not the provider (remember, it is a miss-SALE).
I would hazard a guess that the request should be sent to Evans who will most likely reject it as it was sold pre-regulation (started Jan 2005), and you can then try the underwriters (someone should post here shortly who they are, might be Genworth?) and see if you have any luck.
I wouldn't hold your breath about getting a refund though - what were your complaint reasons (remember, simply having PPI is not a bad thing, you complain about it being miss-sold e.g. it would never pay out, you had great cover from work etc)Sam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:
People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

Complin to Sanatander. They will reject your complaint. Then complain to Genworth.
This is not a guarantee, they may or they may not refund you.Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi0
