Dear fellow MSE peeps!
The house I recently purchased had a garage, that the previous owner turned into a cinema room. They did this by installing a stud wall just behind the garage door, and then raised the floor so that it is level with the remainder of the house. There is also a door to the house, and the room has central heating and electricity. So you get my drift, all of the basics are done. However, there is no natural light....
What I would like done is the garage door taken out, the stud wall taken out, and a brick wall / window installed instead. Obviously some plastering would need to be done as well, but does anybody know roughly what I would need to budget for this work? I'm in Essex.

I can'r help on costs, as i DIY.
I did exactly the same for my DH 7 years ago.
£100 for bricks, £300 for window, £100 for ins and blocks etc
Labour? I'm out.
Just check, we needed to put a lintel in over the gap as the top window line was higher than the garage door top due to the normal stepped down garage level.I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)
Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed0
