I can't see why you think setting this up is any easier than using two Tesco accounts? And, it costs.Register a £1 DD with gocardless.com and they'll transfer you back £0.99. I've described it here. It may also work with one GC account and 2 DDs or two GC accounts and two DDs but I haven't tried it.0 -
Quite agree with you. I reckon Tesco will weather this storm anyway. Both Morrisons and Sainbury's have had periods where they've been kicked to death by the press and they're still around.Normal ANTI Tesco media releases cause this ! Those connected to the firm in any way are seriously p!ssed off about it .0 -
Do correct me if I'm mistaken, but setting up two tesco accounts took approximately 5 days. If I recall, it was that I had to wait to activate it and online banking before I could give across the 6+8 digits for a DD. Quite a lot of overhead for a £1 DD.
I think you might misunderstand how the Tesco DDs work. It never took me, or anyone I know of, 5 days to set up 2 Tesco savings accounts - more like 5 minutes. You are right, you need to have online access, and that can take a few days to set up but that is a one off, and a lot of people will want this anyway, to get access to the Tesco interest-paying current accounts, and Tesco credit cards (e.g. their market leading 0% fee BT cards).
Once you have online access to Tesco, it takes a couple of minutes to set up a savings account, and seconds to add DDs. The beauty is that there is no limit to the number of DDs, we know for certain it works for those needing 2 monthly paying DDs (we do not know that for your alternative), and it doesn't cost you anything - quite the contrary, they pay you.0 -

You're responding to an 18 month old post, and Tesco's conditions have changed since then.Eco Miser
