in Credit cards
My first post on here so be gentle with me !
We fell into arrears with our HSBC credit cards.
Initially their in house debt collection people were collecting our agreed instalments.
However, now the debt has been passed on to Marlin and we are paying them the agreed instalments without fail every month.
Can Marlin access balance information or take money from our HSBC bank accounts ?
Would HSBC be allowed to provide Marlin with any details of what is in our HSBC bank accounts?
Thanks

MSE article: Dont Bank With DebtsWhat's a separate institution?
Of course now many banks are part of mega-conglomerates, it begs the question "what is a separate institution?" The answer depends on the bank's legal entity, something with no easy definition, but generally means how it's registered at Companies House.
This seems to be mostly just the different individual bank brands. For the sake of clarity, these AREN'T always the same as the definitions used for Savings Safety, but these groupings can be used as a guide.
As Marlin aren't a part of HSBC group, I don't think that they can get assess to either your money or your information at HSBC. However, some information can be available from CRAs.0 -
Thanks very much for your help0
