Experiences with snagging companies

Hi all,
I'm looking for experiences, both good and bad, from anyone who has used a snagging company when buying a new build house. Did you think the cost was worth it? Which company did you use?
I'm buying a 2 bedroom house so my research suggests maybe £300-400. Obviously not a small amount, but if it saves me chasing the builders for the first few years it might be worthwhile.
I know you can get a snagging list to do it yourself for much cheaper/free, but as this is my first house I may not be the best person for spotting such things!
