Lloyds Bank job cuts

Anyone know when they will announce which branches are closing?
In Stockport there are two - one in the main town shopping centre that was only opened a year or so ago and has a lot of self service elements.
Also another only half a mile or so away in an out of town shopping street.
Given the opening of the new central branch the latter seems a possible candidate for closure if they are stating they are closing urban areas mostly.
Will they have told staff in the threatened premises yet? Must be awful to see speculation like this otherwise as the staff must all be fearing similar things.0 -
No info on there press releases was looking at it earlier - all over mainstream news sources yet Lloyds press releases oddly not?!!?0

Hopefully it will be mostly made up of natural attrition, although there are a few people who have been here 20 years plus who would do very nicely out of any redundancy packages.
I have ten teas in so I would be okay but I really enjoy working there and would be quite happy to stay for as long as I need to. Got made redundant 2004 and really don't want to have to go through it again, especially at 40.
Assume you mean years
Hope your job is safe.0 -

Much will depend on lease expiry.0 -

It is vital that the Banking industry dont follow the example of the "no frills" airline industry. Many who are not computer literate and are unlikely to become so could find they are denied access to basic services.

I think Malcnascar is referring to 'no frills' airlines, such as Ryanair, increasingly 'encouraging' their customers to use online systems or face charges such as £70 for airport check in.0 -

Fine by me, I don't want to waste my time queuing for a check in desk.

I agree
However, I think the point being made was that some, especially older people, are being disadvantaged by the increasing reliance/insistence on online technology in order to cut costs0 -

Think you hit the nail on the head there. Problem is you hit it so hard it bent and you didn't notice. But it will cause a problem when it works loose.0 -
They just seem not that popular when I've passed them. When I did walk into one, I was asked if I needed help by about six different bored looking people.
I've never seen a quiet BOS branch - In addition to the servicing refugees from their Lloyds sisters, they also have business customers.PeacefulWaters wrote: »They're not meant to be.
They seem to be the model for the low footfall bank branch of the future. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0
