Memorybits.co.uk and google shopping chart

I buy lots of little electronic gadgets like flash pen drives and memory cards from small retailers, with no problems.
I found this retailer, memorybits.co.uk, and as they had a google shopping cart account I thought they would be reliable because feedback can be left for them.
The website states they have same day dispatch. I know from using other small retailers with this advertised on their sites means if they have the item in stock they will deliver it same day otherwise if you make a enquiry they will tell you when the stock will be in.
I ordered a memory card from the retailer on 11th July and it hadn't arrived by 17th so I emailed them. They responded saying the item had been delayed because of the floods, the Royal Mail postage strike and the item had been dispatched.
Today I noticed when tracking the item by google shopping cart that the item had not been posted out to me yet, so I cancelled my order. (I currently chasing this up.)
I'm just annoyed that the retailer was unable to tell the truth in the first place. If the stock is not in then telling the customer doesn't mean they will automatically go elsewhere but making up excuses and saying the order is posted when it has not been is bad customer service.
BTW I ordered through google shopping cart as this means I don't have to sign up for an account, can track my order and leave feedback at the end of my purchase. However I just noticed I can't leave feedback if I cancel my order so I contacted google to state this.
