Removing Veritas alarm system

Hello,
We recently moved into a new home which has a Veritas 8C security alarm system.
However, we don't actually use it and the constant buzzing noise is driving us insane.
We'd like to get it uninstalled but a search of the net hasn't given any answers at all.
Has anybody had this done before, or have any idea how we'd go about doing this?
Thanks,
Kevin

What's buzzing, the mains transformer?
To DIY:
1) Isolate from the mains - (if the back-up battery is low/ not charged, the alarm may sound)
2) Remove the back-up battery (from control box)
If there is a another battery in the bell box (and it's charged) the alarm may sound. The next step is to:
3) Open the bell box ( if alarm is not already sounding, it probably will, as the anti tamper kicks in) - remove the battery.
That should silence it.
You'll probably need a ladder?
That should do it, just need to replace the bell box cover, put your ladder away, job done.
* If the alarm does sound at any point, you'll need to work through the 3 steps whilst smiling and giving your neighbours a friendly wave
Or - an alarm engineer could de-commission it, (or replace the bit that's buzzing) don't know what he'd charge.0 -
If it's buzzing then either the panel transformer is faulty or insecure.
The problem is that if you follow those instructions (good as they are) and power down the control panel as well as remove the battery the panel is 'dead'.
You won't be able to silence the bell because a. the panel is useless and b. the external sounder will be running on it's own battery (if fitted, of course). The idea of that is if the cable is cut to the external sounder it can sound as an alert so anyone trying to break in can't silence it just by cutting the cable.
Best idea is to remove the external sounder cover, the bell will sound. Just disconnect the battery if fitted. Silence the control panel then power it down, removing the mains fuse then the battery.
Unless you want to redecorate I would just leave it in-situ. Visual deterrent.0 -

Trying to do too many things at once . . .
I've edited the daft bits out0
