ParkingEye COUNTY COURT CLAIM!
jcw83
In August I parked at Birchanger Green Services for about 5 hours while a colleague drove us both to a meeting and then dropped me back to my car. A few weeks later I received a fine in the post from ParkingEye.
I have always been under the impression it's best to ignore these as they have no legal binding. And so I ignored letter after letter after letter.
Last week I received a Claim Form from the County Court Business Centre, which looks pretty official, for £175 rather than the initial £50 fine.
What am I best off doing? Continue ignoring it and hope it just goes away?!

DO NOT IGNORE A COURT LETTER.... unless you're okay with a CCJ from PE. Also you'll upset others by using the "f" word.
Look in the newbies thread, post #5 at the top of this forum: http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showpost.php?p=64350600&postcount=5
This has been recently covered a lot on this forum, so do a search on Parking Eye County Court Claim; have a look at Parking Prankster's guide http://www.parking-prankster.com/court-claim.html

Oh dear oh dear oh dear. Two years out of date - could have Googled it to check. YOU HAVE A COURT CLAIM - DO NOT IGNORE IT! So here's some reading for you:
http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showpost.php?p=64350600&postcount=5
That info was up the top of the forum all along in 'Private Parking ticket, old or new? Newbies please read these FAQs first'.
We help hundreds of people with small claim with a fairly high success rate - and LOTS of cases are being stayed for the PE v Beavis Court of Appeal outcome (all over your head at the moment as you have ignored the whole thing and haven't realised that PE have issued court paper to around 17000 people in the past year and are subject to an important CoA case in Feb next year). You really need to get up to speed!
So read ALL links there and then read them again over the weekend so it sinks in that you must defend this claim NOW! Acknowledge the claim online, then work on your defence (the links help you). Show us your draft defence. Clue - it's not about what YOU did.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
