Accessing Podcasts when away

Does anyone know a way of downloading podcasts when one is out of the country and unable to access one's pc? Or perhaps there is an archive of podcasts somewhere so one can catch up on return? iTunes and the BBC website only seem to hold the most recently broadcast programme...

I subscribe to podcasts using Feedly.

I use Beyondpod as a Feedly client on my Android phone and tablet. No doubt there are other Feedly clients for ios and windows phone.

Thanks, although sadly I do not have an Android device. However, if I did, are you saying this would work outside the UK, or that it would allow me to download old podcasts on return?

Interesting, but I see on the appropriate BBC podcast page it says these podcasts are available 'indefinitely'.

However, if you go to the Friday Night Comedy page you will see that these, for example, are only available for 7 days.

Different programmes have podcasts available for different lengths of time.

There is nothing to stop you listening to Podcasts anywhere in the world on a laptop, MP3 player, iphone, most tablets or android device. All you have to do is copy the file to any of these devices and then listen.

How do you listen to podcasts at the moment?

If you could say the podcasts you like I am sure someone will be able to tell you the best way to listen to them while you are abroad.

Thanks. Perhaps the solution is easier than I thought?

My favourite podcasts are mainly BBC radio ones and, because you cannot access iPlayer etc overseas, I assumed that you would not be able to download BBC podcasts abroad either.

I currently access podcasts using iTunes on a desktop pc which I then sync with my iPod. However, I've now downloaded the Podcasts App on my iPhone and hopefully I will just be able to download (using wifi) and listen to them when abroad?

Do you think this will work ok?

you could set up a vpn to your home and no one will know you have even left the country.
