Haha, so keen Sam
So I read on another thread that it's an exact dupe of the Smashbox photo finish primer. Other ladies here have confirmed it is good stuff. I nipped into Boots at lunch and picked up a tube, it was a whole £6.85!
I'll post tomorrow to let you know if it's any good...
As far as I'm aware there's only one type (I hope there is only one type of chaffing!! :rotfl:)0 -

Thanks Roobee, can't wait for the review, gotta love a bargain, hence why I will never be rich :eek:Sam B0 -
Just be aware that I read a similar thread on mumsnet and it was said that 'Lanacane gel contains 3% Benzocane and the tube says you shouldn't use for more than 1 week at a time'.
See here:

Ooh, good spot WantToBeSE. I've just read the back of the box...
'fragrance free, non-staining and gentle enough to use everyday'
'If pain from chafing, soreness or rubbing extends longer than 7 days, consult a doctor'
So if you're not using it for chafing purposes (titter!), I take that to mean it's fine. What do you think?
Also, Benzocane isn't listed in the ingredients!? I am a little confused now...0 -
I think there are two types of lanacane, one in a red tube and one in a yellow tube. The yellow is the one I have used as a primer, I think the red tube lanacane has a numbing agent in it.
Another good cheap primer is MUA primer from super drug, it costs £4 and is very similar to the Smashbox primer (the plain one).0 -
I also have the yellow-tubed one - thank god! Haha.
Maybe the red one is only available OTC, I hope that's the case.
So used it for the first time this morning, texture is fine for me, no chalkiness. My foundation went on really smooth, in fact, a lot smoother than most other primers I've tried! Will persevere as I think I've found a winner here.
Thanks everyone for your help0 -

Thanks Roobee, so your chaffing of the face has gone now:eek:
Have you tried the MUA one before that someone has suggested.......
Glad I checked about what type, knowing me I would've got the wrong one:rotfl::rotfl:Sam B0 -
Roobie- what skin type do you have? Would it suit oily/combination skin?0
