How easy is it to change a 2004 Ford KA wing mirror?

Someone has hit my passenger side wing mirror and it is just hanging there.

Does anyone know if it is relatively easy to fit a new mirror or does it involve dismantling the door?

Any advice greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

  • IIRC:

Remove plastic cover at top of doorcard where mirror is mounted.

    Undo a couple of nuts
    Remove mirror

    Reverse to refit.

I had a look, but am wondering if the plastic cover is easy to remove after 10 years:( Do you just prise it off?

    Get it prised off!
Even if it breaks, that's preferable over the mirror swinging about and rubbing the paint away :)

Yep, use a couple of large dessert spoons either side of it if you don't have access to soft trim tools.

Just wanted to say thanks for the good advice. Bought a secondhand replacement on Ebay and now it is all fixed:T

Did you do it yourself in the end? If so, well done.
