Highview Parking Charge Notice

Hi I received a charge notice last week for staying in what I thought was a free car park for 2 1/2 hours. It was from 8.30 in the evening to 11pm. As I was there when all of the retailers (except McDonalds) were closed do I still have a right to refuse to pay the extortionate £85 charge?

Thanks in advance for any help.

I have read quite a lot of the information but most people seemed to have received their parking charge during the day whilst shopping. I just wondered if it made any difference that the shops were closed at the time of night I was parked except McDonalds?

Of course you do erind - and well done for not calling it a ' f---' :-)

Your lunch-break reading today starts with the Newbies stickies here:
    https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/4816822

Go through it a few times to learn how you'll beat these notorious racketeers.

Also type Highview into the Search This Forum space, extreme r.h above all the parking threads, for more than you'll ever need/want to know about them.

Post up your drafts for comment before sending anything - we want you to get it right.

You'll be fine if you follow the advice here, regardless of the upsetting and mock-official ways they have of attempting to part you from a lot of money.

What happened on the day is irrelevant and will not get you anywhere if you use that in your appeal. This is explained in the NEWBIES thread.

Was this a windscreen ticket or NTK? Was this England/Wales or Scotland/NI as the advice is different.

Does the ticket you have received mention BPA? Highview's website shows them being members but do not appear on the BPA's members list making me think they may have jumped ship.

    re: #3 - NO.
No difference at all - any explanation is mitigation and doesn't count for a silly sausage.

Are they still in the BPA as they aren't appearing on the BPA website as members?

    Thank you all.

It was in England, and came through the post 7 days after my parking there. Yes they do have an approved BPA logo on the letter.

OK, use the initial appeal template in the NEWBIES thread exactly as is This will be rejected but must include a PoPLA code that you then use along with the How To Win at PoPLA section of the NEWBIES thread, and win.

I think the timing of the NTK may be wrong (too early) so could be an additional appeal point.

Lunch time over. Must go for a work break now. Good luck.

From the BPA AOS Members' page: Ranger Services Ltd also t/a Highview Parking Limited. What the hell is that supposed to mean? How can one limited company trade as another? And given that both limited companies still exist, which one is the BPA member?

OP, is your notice from Highview Parking Limited or Ranger Services Limited or are both mentioned?

The letter is from Highview Parking in Barnet Bazster.
Regarding the NTK, can it be too early Fruitcake?
