Retuning a Grey Import Samsung TV

Hi,
I've brought a Samsung DTV model UE32H5000AX from Pixmania without realising it was a grey import and wouldn't work normally in the uk. Although it seems to find all the tv and radio channels, they are in alphabetical order and I cannot get the HD channels.
Is there any easy way to get this TV to work for the UK market as it currently defaults to Polish.
Cheers,
Andy.

Each of their TVs that are imported do say something similar to:This television is an imported item. Click to learn more: UK residents / IE residents.
I know as was just looking to buy a Samsung TV from them too as they were massively cheaper than any other UK based company (plus have used them before)
Looking at the UE32H5000 there are two different ones they have, the cheaper one explicitly says the above and the other more expensive one doesnt state it and does say you can get the HD chanels. Sounds like you bought the cheaper one
The only thing that wont work properly on an import is the freeview tuner as continental europe uses a different format to us. If you are feeding the box with Sky HD or such then its a non-issue.0 -
Thanks for the reply. Yes I did go for the cheap one. Basically its for my son's bedroom so he can play his xbox without his old tv taking up half his room.
I did read the notice on the website, after the event unfortunately as I brought in haste. As it's not the main TV it's less of an issue, just it would be nice if we could at least get all the channels in the right place.
Cheers,

When did you buy it? If it was within 14 days, and assuming you bought online, you should be able to advise that you want to return under the Consumer Contracts Regulations, although it's likely that you'll have to pay for the return, and they might argue that you've used the TV and they can make a charge for that. I don't think you would be able to do a SOGA return as it sounds from what II says as if the TVs are sold on the basis that they are imports.0

Although it seems to find all the tv and radio channels, they are in alphabetical order
Pages 3 & 6 of the user manual for the UE32H5000AK (which I assume is very similar in operation to your UE32H5000AX) suggest that you can sort the channel list either in order of channel name (which is presumably what you have) or in order of channel number (which is presumably what you want):
