Invalid Financial Association

Hoping someone can advise on this.



My wife and I are about to apply for a mortgage so have both checked our credit files on Noddle and something has come up on her report.



My wife previously had a mortgage with her ex but it was over 6 years ago. However, on her Noddle report it still shows her and her ex having a 'financial association' on the mortgage. This is of course not the case as it ended June 2008 when they sold the property and paid off the mortgage.



The odd thing is the entry on her report shows up as last updated June 2008, 6 years and 5 months ago.



Should this not have been removed once the 6 year period was up? Should we contact the mortgage provider or Noddle themselves to get this updated? Is this likely to cause us a problem with our application?

Main worry is that if we need to get this removed before our application it may hold things up by up to a month!

She can adopt either approach either the lender or Noddle (CallCredit).


But don't forget there are 3 CRAs so she'd need to contact Experian & Equifax too.


I believe with all 3 it's simply a case of filling in a notice of disassociation form which may be found on their respective websites.


When I was in a similar position recently I chose to approach the one lender rather than all 3 CRAs.
