Renting a scooter or moped for the day in Oxfordshire

Anyone know a place near Oxford that rents out 125cc scooters for the day? I've just passed my CBT and want to get a little more riding practice before I buy my own.
I'm pretty sure there aren't any bike rental places in Oxford itself, but I can travel within reason. The nearest I found so far is this place in Ruislip.

Personally I've not heard of being able to rent scooters in the UK, not saying you can't, just that it's not really as main stream as mainland Europe maybe.
On another note....(not sure how experianced you was before your CBT mind) but normally hire vehicles come with big excesses for minor damage. You may be better buying yourself a scooter for a couple of hundred quid, then if you drop it off its stand, bash it in the garage etc etc it's not the end of the world, you can sell it on after a few months and get most/all of your money back - cheap scooters never hang around long, regardless of condition. Youl also start building your NCB, once you have a few years on a bike insurance becomes dirt cheap.0 -
You could try asking here http://www.faulknermotorcycles.co.uk/ . They're in Botley so very close to Oxford. They don't advertise hiring but they're really helpful so may be able to sort you out for a day, or if you give them a call they may be able to point you in the right direction.0

I've never heard of a scooter hire thing in the UK.
Up here one of our local Councils have come up with a good scheme as part of Merseytravel. 'Transport Solutions' in an attempt to help people who have just started work or College give loans to buy scooters; get all the clothing you need, and pay the insurance. I'm not sure of the criteria you have to reach.
Update.
Loan to buy Scooter Scheme
Subject to the above eligibility, Transport Solutions can offer a scooter to get to/from employment should public transport not be available. Successful clients will pay back the cost of the scooter over a 10 months period with all the equipment, insurance and road tax included. If you are eligible please contact either Ryan Oakes (0151 330 1301) or Ya Ching Darnell (0151 330 1311) for more details.
Bike For Work
Subject to the above eligibility, Transport Solutions can offer a free bicycle. If you have started work and are eligible please contact either Ryan Oakes (0151 330 1301) or Ya Ching Darnell (0151 330 1311) for more information.
Perhaps other Councils have similar schemesLiverpool is one of the wonders of Britain,
