Cheap way to buy shares - ex only

Hello
I have decided to buy a UK FTSE 250 stock, around £2ks worth. Happy to buy online but would like to put a limit price on, and wont be able to buy in real time due to work commitments
I am a higher rate tax payer
Can you please advise on cheapest way to buy and ultimately sell. I don't have a NISA although happy to open one, however it seems Hargeaves Lansdown who I already have a SIPP and buy shares in, will charge me not only for buying and selling the shares but holding them in a NISA which seems excessive
I don't want to put this money in a SIPP as I have put all the money I intended to tie up for the long term in a sip already this year
Many Thanks

£5.95 + vat per deal - looks very good
are they ok? I am a novice really, but haven't heard of them
can they be relied upon to make payments back into bank accounts at pace etc?0 -
X-O is a sound if basic service. Run by Jarvis Securities.
I use them primarily for my SIPP. Customer service is first class. They've grown by word of mouth. Very little advertising.
Owning Jarvis shares has proved extremely profitable so far as well.0 -
I use X-O.co.uk, been using them for a couple of years now without any problems.
At £5.95 flat per trade its good value and from my experience it does not effect the service they provide. Before I went over to X-O my other broker used to charge 3x X-O's price per trade and I have not noticed any difference in service since using X-O - just a saving in fees..Never let the perfume of the premium overpower the odour of the risk0 -

£5.95 flat rate per trade, no VAT (Dealing Commission is exempt from VAT)Never let the perfume of the premium overpower the odour of the risk0 -
If you're looking for cheap, X-O and IWEB are the two bare-bones services that get the most attention here. X-O is cheaper than IWEB up to and including 26 lifetime trades. IWEB is cheaper for 27+ trades (£25 to open the account, but then £5 for each trade).
Two advantages of IWEB are the included DRIP option, and the instant transfer of money from your bank account into your IWEB account for trade (it can take hours for X-O).
As you hint that this isn't "long-term" then you probably won't need DRIP and probably won't mind waiting an hour or two for your funds to move from your bank account to your trading platform in order to make the purchase, so XO for £11.90 (open account + buy + sell) beats IWEB at £35 (open account + buy + sell).Q: What kind of discussions aren't allowed?
A: It goes without saying that this site's about MoneySaving.
Q: Why are some Board Guides sometimes unpleasant?
A: We very much hope this isn't the case. But if it is, please make sure you report this, as you would any other forum user's posts, to forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com.0 -
Ive never heard of X-O but looks very interesting.
Am I correct in saying they have no other fees than the trade fee of £5.95 per trade, so no management fee or annual fee like a lot of the other S&S ISA's?
No fees for setting buy and sell limits either?0 -

The first page on the site says
Unlike some of our competitors, we don’t charge account opening fees, management fees or inactivity fees etc
