Remember, too, that deposit would have been earning interest since May had it remained in your a/c.

In all honesty personally I would not, there is a danger someone passes the link on and this could further antagonise the builder.

You know its rubbish, you know what you want.

    Go for it.

Well we all think he was "playing games" and trying to push us to go "ok we are pulling out" so he could sell it to someone that will bow down to him and his fine development clearly we ain't those people.

He has to now go ahead and has a time frame to complete by end of November as that's when the stop gap finishes ( at the start the complishion date was September.

Our snag list is printed off and we will as soon as they give my legal person the complishion date will arrange a meeting to go around the property and get that signed off with a time frame of getting these completed by and go from there.

Lessons have been learnt buying this property and all the hardwork from my "mad" broker! And my even more "brilliant" legal lady has helped us and put things right.

Thanks for all the posts guys!
  • Is he going to compensate you for all this trouble? I'd expect him to at least throw in a few free extras after all of that.

Snagging is normal on new builds, he will know that. Peoples attitudes are what tends to get their backs up to bursting point. It would be interesting to see his side of the story, but that will never happen.

OP - have you considered paying someone to do the snagging? You've probably spotted a few obvious faults - there may be lots more.

    Thanks for your input.

There is snagging and then there is issues with the house

Would you call a dented non fitting front door a snag?

Would you call work tops/units been put in not straight so
A marble rolls into the corner or when you turn the tap on the water doesn't go down the plug as the whole unit/kitchen tops are not straight.

That's an issue not a tiny little snag.

We wasn't the one shouting out and throwing insults and demanding
Our money back. That was him.
