Hi not sure if this is the right place to post this but my kids have an app on their phones called DEPOPP it's like gumtree but online my son had bought an iPhone 5 for £100 ( I know if it sounds too good to be true it usually is!) we paid through PayPal and the seller sent it back asking us to send it to her daughters account I told her I would have to wait until it cleared into my PayPal account she said ok then she sent a message saying it was fine her account was working again and just to send it back to her so I sent a payment back to her but unknown to me I sent it as an e-cheque she said she couldn't send it until the cheque cleared.
I said I'll speak to PayPal in the morning I phoned PayPal and they said speak to bank, anyway I managed to do an instant payment and messaged the seller to let her know but have never heard from her again. I have sent several messages to her.
I spoke to PayPal they asked why I paid through friends and family I told them I thought I got charged if I used goods button but it turns out it's the seller that gets charged and PayPal cannot help with lost payments if you don't use goods button.
I have since received the e-cheque back but I am still £100 down has anyone else came across this?

Did you get the iphone 5 yet??? And is it locked to any specific network. If so call that network and get them to check the imei number they will be able to tell you if it's contract, But £100 iphone is likely a contract and may get blocked.
Did you pay the money to the seller??? Did you use debit/credit card??? echeque uses direct debt to collect funds which takes a few days to clear.0 -

Have you read the OP?!
They paid with paypal transfer, and they haven't heard from the seller since, so any issues with locked networks are moot, as they likely won't even get the phone!0 -
And since the OP conspired to defraud paypal out of their fees by making a false 'friends and family' payment, paypal aren't going to want to know either.
This made me think of Martin's blog post from last week.
http://blog.moneysavingexpert.com/2014/10/21/is-it-age-or-a-different-generation-that-makes-older-people-more-trusting/
If the premise of that is accurate, the OP must be very old indeed .....
