I can barely tell the difference between SD and HD

Maybe it's your eyesight because I can tell the difference massively. I had a friend round today who only uses free view. For some reason he never uses the free view HD channels. He said to turn on because he wanted to watch something, I naturally turned to the HD version of the channel he wanted, he was amazed at the difference even though he has a HD TV but for some reason has never bothered to watch the free view HD channels.

It either has to be your eyesight for this view of SD vs HD or some weird money saving placebo effect!

Personally for me I've heard the curved screens look amazing. I'll wait 2 or 3 years till the around 46/50 inch version drops to below £1000 which it will.

That good picture would be due to OLED not the curve, shame there isnt any flatscreen OLED's.

LG manufactured a flat screen OLED LG 55EA880W.

I saw a wall mounted curved screen in Currys , today. It was in a large alcove and looked very odd, as though it was peeling off the wall. It would probably look even odder without a surrounding alcove.

I don't know whether curved tv's are a waste of money, but IMO, any tv over £400 is a waste of money!

And I think they look plain WEIRD.

Hubby raves about them, but then he also raved about 3D televisions which were also stupidly priced and massively over-rated and never took off!

We won't be having one. We have had the same telly for 7 years now and it's fine and it's not being replaced until it blows up.

I refuse to replace stuff that works fine, just to have some snazzy, over-priced gadget we don't need. (I have to say that I am the one with the common sense out of me and my hubby.) :D
Proud to have lost over 3 stone (45 pounds,) in the past year! :j Now a size 14!

    Poor s@d. :)

These days one is perfectly capable of buying a very good quality large screen HD TV and PVR for less than £400.

You should have seen the prices on Black Friday - Cyber Monday.

If it's that old Lily Rose, a few drops of 3 in 1 oil on the Nipkow disk bearings will improve performance no end.
