Robbed by the Bank

Hi

After being charged £200+ by the bank on 1st December I rang the bank and begged them for help due to the time of year. The bank said the only thing they could do was to take on my credit cards (their own by the way) as a loan but I would also have to borrow our overdraft amount as once they did this I could no longer have an overdraft but they would waiver the bank charges due to go out on 1st January.

They knew I had no other option open to me. I am currently trying to reclaim bank charges and wonder if I had any recourse against the wonderful thing they did for me at Christmas.

P.S one of the bank charges was for a standing order that they never even paid out and when I asked them how this had cost them money they said it was because they knew no funds were in the account.

One charge was because I went £8 overdrawn and apparently they have stopped the £10 buffer (as the customer I would have thought they should have notified me of changes to my terms and conditions).

  • No is the answer, but claim the money back cos it will still mean the bank will have to give you your money back.
I have not worked for NatWest Bank since February 2009
