Ebay not refunding for package that didn't arrive

Can anyone please give me any advice on what I should do?
I placed an order with an ebay seller that never arrived at my address. I asked for tracking info the day after the estimated delivery date and to my astonishment found that my order had allegedly been delivered the day before.
I chased up Royal Mail and after two weeks investigating they told me my package got delivered to another address and signed for. No red delivery card was issued to my address on that day and when I went to the other address given to me they claimed that no one there had signed for my item on that day.
The thing is that I had asked for a refund from the ebay seller but both cases were closed against me because allegedly proof of postage to my address had been given in the tracking info. But that was not my signature. No one at my address signed for it. Now my ebay appeal has been closed.
I have not received my items nor my refund. Can anyone help?

Hi
A few months ago I lost £40 when I paid for an item after winning the bid. According to Royal Mail someone signed for the item and the postman swears he delivered it to my address. On checking "the signature" was a round circle and the subsequent letter I received from Royal Mail after making a non delivery claim informed me that as they had obtained a "signature" I am unable to file a claim with them as they'd delivered it and got a signature. Apparently the signature doesn't have to be mine, any old scribble will do and of course the seller wouldn't refund me as according to Royal Mail the item was delivered and signed for.
I've since paid for my own postbox elsewhere as I've had several items go missing recently and at least three destroyed by the post person when photos clearly marked as "do not bend" were folded in half and forced through the slot in my door. Either my postman/woman is illiterate or stupid or both. I no longer trust Royal Mail with my post. I've lodged several complaints with Royal Mail and have received a "we will investigate" letter with no follow up on every occasion.

Depending on how long ago this happened you can appeal the case. To do that successfully you should obtain the evidence that you were given to say the item was delivered elsewhere.0 -
Thanks for replying. I also want to add that according to the investigation, the delivery person cannot be 100% sure he delivered it to address he claims.
I only just had my appeal closed so I am looking at all options at the moment. How can I re-appeal a case that has been closed?0 -

You cannot re-appeal. You get once chance to appeal.0 -
Can I ask why you opened a case against the seller instead of asking seller to help you make a claim against RM? By opening the case you are blaming the seller for RM's error. Ebay found in sellers favour as parcel showed as 'delivered', you were always going to lose the case and have only succeeded in alienating your seller.
Usually it is the seller who makes the RM claim (as they have the postal receipt) but I doubt your seller is interested in helping you now, although there's no harm in asking. If they won't help, you will need to try to make the claim yourself against RM, a claim form can be obtained from your local PO. A copy of the signature can also be obtained from RM, (who knows, maybe you will recognise the signature as a neighbour). Can't recall but does PO tracking online show the actual address posted to? If not it is important to see receipt which does show address. unfortunately it is your seller that has the receipt, hopefully they will email you a copy.0 -
I repeatedly told the seller that I did not receive the item nor sign for it. I asked for the seller to check with the local delivery office. The seller said they [Royal Mail] did send it to my address. The seller then suggested I take it up with ebay if I wasn't happy.0

If you have evidence from RM that they delivered it elsewhere then send a 'signed for' delivery letter to the seller. Give him 14 days to resend the item or you will take legal action.0 -
They wouldn't send a confirmation letter (most likely they can't confirm 100% where it went)
Does anyone know how the Royal Mail tracking system works? Does it tell you where the signature was recorded? Or the intended address?0 -

https://www.royalmail.com/trackdetails is the most detailed you will get as a consumer. So it won't help.
Try social media, get onto them and explain you dispute the delivery.0 -

RM have the ability to GPS track the scan point. This gives mappable cordinates.0
