A silent mouse?

Is there such a thing as a silent mouse? One which makes a silent "click"? My clicking drives my husband mad! A silent one would mean a little gaming now and then also.

if you have a spare one hanging about, you could always do what this guy did:

    How about some active muffs?

The built in pads used on laptops that act as mice (touchpads) tend to be complety silent.
  • Hi,

maybe you could make a small sound proofed box that sits over the mouse and your hand. :rotfl:

Get a wee box made up of plywood, line the inside of box with some rubber or foam, a small upturned u cut out at one end for the cable and one for the size of your wrist at the other end, you could put some rubber or padding on the wrist end to ensure a tight fit, paint and decorate it, bob's your uncle. :rotfl:

The other alternative is to get a larger box made, and totally enclose yourself and the computer inside it, hope you're not claustrophobic. :rotfl:
  • This thread sounds soooo familiar, my mrs exactly the same.

Well this is my fave suggestion so far as its moneysaving! I will ask my son if he has one lying about. They are cheap enough to buy anyhow-worth a tinkering session!

Id wear the muffs myself to drown out the complaining! Rather expensive though! :+(

How about a touchpad like on laptops? Not sure if a usb attachment type thing exists, but just tapping the touchpad is a click and less noisy.

Mice are cheap - buy a new one and root around in it's gubbins, you'll almost definatly just be able to stop the clicking.
