Faulty Tablet

Hi all,
I bought a Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 Edition tablet from Argos around Jan time of this year.
The tablet is now extremely slow and not very responsive. I was just wondering do I return this to Argos for repair or contact Samsung direct?
Not sure if it just slow because of software, tried deleting a few things but no real improvement.
It is disappointing as this tablet has 3GB ram and struggles reading forum pages in web browsers hence me thinking there is a fault.
Any advice on consumer rights would be great
Thanks
Matt

Have you tried doing a factory reset?
What you should do is to back up any data you have on the tablet (including any passwords, e-mail addresses etc) then turn it off ald leave off for 10-15 seconds.
After this, press the volume + and power on buttons together and keep them pressed until you see the Samsung logo on the screen and which time you release the power button (keeping the volume + pressed).
After a couple of seconds the reset screen should appear and then release the volume button.
Scroll down to the "wipe data/reset" option using the volume down button to scroll the cursor and press the power button to confirm.
I think you need to confirm the action twice.
When it's been reset, you have to restart the tablet and it should restart in "out of the box" settings so you will have to reload all of your apps and other data.0 -
Hi Shaun, not done that, have updated the android on it though the other day which didnt make any noticeable improvement
Will give that a try though, sounds like a sensible plan

Have you tried resetting your tablet to factory settings. Sometimes apps can slow down a tablet.0

You decide.Should I send back to argos where I bought it from our send to Samsung direct?
Not quite your scenario, but here's a short extract from MSE's Consumer Rights guide:
On the other hand you may get a quicker response by going direct to the manufacturer.Know who's responsible
When returning items, beware shops trying the oldest trick in the book: saying they're not responsible for the shoddy goods and you must call the manufacturer. This is total nonsense!
If a company fobs you off by saying “go to the maker instead”, it's wrong. It's the retailer's job to sort it.
It doesn't matter if it's an iPod from a high street shop or a designer frock from a department store. If something's broken, torn, ripped or faulty, the seller has a legal duty to put it right as your contract is with it.0 -
Thanks for that, great info.
It seems to imply I should go back to Argos which i shall do, let them foot the cost of returning it to Sammy.
Who knows they may just swap it. Highly unlikey though as I have had it circa 10 months. It is exempt from money back guarantee but that dont matter either as I have had it longer than that.________________________________________

If its under guarantee with the manufacturer, argos will send it back to them.
End result is the same although not sure if theres a difference in turnover times. You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride0
