I went to Krakow for my wife's 40th 6 years ago and loved it. Loads of good suggestions above. We also did a tour of the city in like a little golf buggy type thing that left from the main square. Did a bit of negotiating and ended up pairing up with another couple which made it a good deal.
  • have you gone yet and did you enjoy it if you have

Nope didn't go in the end as she had let me down a few times anyway and then let me down with going to the comedy 2 hours before we should have gone which was the final straw so I cancelled the hotel, lost £40, but I would rather lose £40 than go and be bossed around (as it felt like it would all be planned out anyway).

If we had booked 3 days I might have gone, but 5 days I think would have been too long. She did go though, although I don't know what she did and if she enjoyed it as we aren't talking and she removed me off Facebook.

Plenty of flights with EasyJet and Ryanair plus BA are starting to fly there in the spring. It all depends on what your nearest airport is. Once you have got your flights just book a hotel directly.
  • Agree with above. We fly Ryanair, take the express train from the airport to central Krakow. I know the train has been cancelled for track work for some time but would assume this is now finished? If still out of action, there is an airport/central bus or taxis.
Hotel is booked separately via Trivago or Trip Advisor, we've stayed at the Francuski and the Europeski both very central and within five/ten minutes walk of Krakow Central station. Andels Hotel is also very close to the station. All of Krakow is walkable and very cheap. Avoid eating in the main square - although still very good value, the restaurants off the Square are even better value.
If you prefer something arranged for you, I've heard good reports of Riviera Travel - but it's very easy (and lots cheaper) to do it yourself.
    Normal people worry me.

Agree it is a little cheaper but it is very nice to sit outside around the edge of the square watching the world go by

Oh and the train probably wont be running till middle of this year
