Who invented advents
This is my first year comping and first time doing advents and its so frustrating but I can't stop :wall:
Where's compers anonymous when you need it!Wins so far :- Mousemat, Football, Chocolate Bar, Gravy and Fat Separator, Roasting Tin, Window Garden Box, a Basket of Hyacinths and a £1000 gift voucher for Very!!!
Massive thanks to all who post! :beer:0 -
It's not the same without a haggis
No searching for the furry beast
No sense of seeking summoning madness
As we say "He must be Here at least"
So sadly doff our Tam o'Shanter
Lay our sporrans soft to rest
No kilts this year to take a canter
But Haggis! Salut! You were the best.0 -
i wish people would refresh their page before posting the answer which has been posted loads of times already0

I'm debating posting 3 advents. Last year every day was a giveaway. This year the first day is a wallpaper for all of them and none the facebook or twitter accounts are describing what the advent is going to be like.
Should I post them anyway in the assumption that there will be giveaways involved at some point?0 -
In my lunch hour I've managed to get through 7 pages of advents - I figure if I go through them 'properly' once then it should be easier on subsequent days. Although if it's anything like other years the list of ones I want to enter will get smaller and smaller the more fed up I become of them
And if it's anything like last year all I will win will be a runner up prize - Cloudy With a Hint of Meatballs goddy bag anyone? - and I'll walk away swearing never again.......
Never again I tell thee........Comps £2016 in 2016 - 1 wins = £530 26.2%
SEALED POT CHALLENGE MEMBER No. 428 2015 - £210.930 -
Well, I've spent about 2 hours today, wading through the advents and have managed to enter only 25 competitions in all. I've crossed quite a few off my list, but there are still loads on which I haven't bothered with today, butI keep thinking they might have better prizes another day!
Thank you so much to everyone who has been contributing to the Advent thread, I do appreciate it, but I can't help feeling a bit deflated at the minute. Anyone else wondering if it's worth the hassle? Or should I stick with it - it might get better, as I cross more off my list?0 -
I am finding the advents hard work this year, none of the fun ones like currys or haggis hunt. They used to break it up a little and make it more fun.
Hope over the next few days I can work out which ones are worth my effort and which to avoid.0 -
I've now put the ones I want to do into five bookmark folders, about 20 to each folder, so I can easily open all tabs and go through them. I'll add others as they happen, and also have seperate folder for Twitter and Rafflecopter ones, and ones opening later in the month.
Going to pop through a few mag dailies then head off for a much needed dinner out!0
