Put it like this: I'd live there like a shot if I could afford it. Which I can't.
It will be busy on the weekends, particularly Portobello Road which is a magnet for tourists and locals doing their weekend shopping. Loads of stuff going on and some pretty good places to eat and drink.0 -
Lucky you, I used to live in this area 15 years ago and loved every second. Every time I visit London I always go back. Weekends are extremely busy on Portobello Road. I had a look at property but no way could I afford 700K for a one bed flat.
It has some great pubs and restaurants. The Organic Kitchen on Portobello Rd is great you can get organic pizza and glass of wine for a tenner which is a bargain in this area.0 -
me too but even further back, early seventies!Absolutely loved it up there(and I was brought up in rural Somerset so huge culture shock).Every time I go to London I am always drawn back to portobello road sigh.........mortgage free 3/10/12:)0
