Soap in the waIshing machine!

Agh... any advice? I had curtains stored in a cupboard, which also had liquid soap stored in there. I noticed they had got dirty in the cupboard and put them in the washing machine... apparantly that dirt was soap..... all I can see through the door is foam and I'm paranoid I'm going to walk into the kitchen to an empty foam party! Will this damage my machine? I've put fabric conditioner in since (I read that will help) there's still over an hour on the wash

I can't see it doing any damage.

    I wouldn't worry about it.
I used to be indecisive but now I am not sure.

As long as your door seal is OK you should not have any problems, wait untill the cycle is finished then run a few hot water washes to clear any soap in the machine and it should be OK. Yes it can damage a machine but that IMO is only if it was done often.
Joking...if it does leak from the door put notice on your house, put some clubbing music on and charge £5.00 entrance fee to all the teens in your area that went to Spain for the holidays. What you get should then pay for new machine.
  • LOL!! It started foaming out of the tray and door.OH was stood by it with a towel... put it on spin and drain, when it finished we opened it to get the drum full of foam out and my 2 year old had a lot of fun lol. . will run a few empty cycles thanks :)

Some fabric conditioner will get rid of lots of the bubbles. A bit late now, but you could have added fabric conditioner when it started foaming and it would have died right down.

add white vinegar will clear any stuck soap.
  • The last time I had a foam party in my kitchen, was when I used washing machine cleaner from poundland. Never again!
