home insurance for a non-traditional build (not defective)

Hi All,
Does anyone know of a home insurer who will quote for non-traditional build homes, in this case a Wimpey no-fines house?
This is not considered a defective house and there are no problems getting a mortgage.
I am not sure whether when getting a quote selecting "concrete" as the type of walls is sufficient or whether you have to declare it as non-traditional or prefabricated (it's not actually prefabricated but some people group it with the prefab houses). Also the roof tiles are concrete tiles, so not sure whether to select concrete or tiles as the roof material
A lot of the websites I've found saying they provide non-traditional build insurance just seem to stick you through a normal quote process where you get stuck on what to select for the wall and roof types. (I think they are just spamming google with all insurance terms)
Aviva are the only ones who allow you to select Wimpey no-fines but only to tell you that they don't cover them
This is only a maybe house (not bought it), so don't want to waste the time of a broker at this stage, but maybe have to spend ages on the phone ringing round I suppose, unless anyone knows better?

Changing the world, one sarcastic comment at a time.

I would have thought concrete construction with a tiled roof.
Try a local broker to the house as they will no doubt have been asked before.0 -
Local brokers will be able to help with non-standard construction, just avoid Swinton.
Alternatively you could go with a specialist intermediary like Towergate who write a fair amount of non-standard risk policies - not a recommendation they are just a big player in these niche markets.0 -
Thanks for the replies
If anyone is interested it seems the Legal and General, AXA and Zurich all consider Wimpey no-fines to be acceptable and you just have to select Concrete as the build material. Direct Line however aren't interestedChanging the world, one sarcastic comment at a time.0 -
My Mom's house is a 3 bed Wimpey "no finings" built by the council in 1953. My parents bought it in about 1982.
She's been with Liverpool Victoria for years and it is £33.56 per month for buildings & contents. I haven't read the actual policy yet so don't know the details of the cover.
I have only just found this out because, sadly, Mom has passed away and we are going through her paperwork. I would have looked for a better deal at renewal time.
