Good morning.
I received a PCN from the above company and sent the appeal letter from the initial thread.
They heve responded to my appeal saying they issued the PCN correctly and legally and in accordance with the bpa approved operators scheme. They also say the signage is appropriate even though I was aware of this. They also noted that I sent them a template letter. In light of this they have detected the appeal and state I have a further 14 days to pay the reduced rate.
They say I can appeal to popla and have provided me with a popla reference number.
They conclude stating that if the appeal does not relate to various criteria or is rejected by popla for any reason then I may be required to pay the full amount.
Should I go to popla or pay considering I did exceed the time allowed as stated on the signage.
Regards

Predictive text is annoying. I meant I was unaware of the signage and they rejected the appeal.
Sorry0 -
We do not advise paying. Please read the NEWBIES sticky thread at top of forum and then come back with any specific points.
But when you do, give us a few dates and tell us if you admitted to being the driver. Also, a bit more about why you were ticketed, was it a windscreen one or ANPR etc.0 -
I will read the popla thread later when I have a little more time.
FYI I was not the driver and have not informed ukpc of this. It was the anpr at one of the worlds most popular fast food eateries. The person in question was in the place the whole time she got carried away with time during a catch up with friends. I don't know by how much the time was exceeded and it doesn't state this on the letter.
Thanks again0 -
They would say their PCN was issued correctly, their signs conform and you have sent a template appeal.
They are only after money and will say anything to get it.
Their signs rarely conform to the COP, they lie all the time, and they and their joke debt collecting company send out thousands of template letters all the time.
Follow the advice on here and see these scummers off!0 -
I have read what seems to be pages of cases on the popla sticky thread and I am still non the wiser how best to approach my claim to popla.
Tomorrow I will be going to the place in question to look at the signage to see how long the person in question exceeded the allowed time. It was either 12 minutes or 42 minutes over to hazard a guess. The person was in the premises the whole time so 50 or hundred pound for just over 2 hours parking is obscene!!
Sorry to be pain but how to choose which appeal route to go down? The first template was easy as no thought was required with it being a template.
Thanks0 -
Just use one of the template appeals, modified to suit your case.
They are here..

We weren't directing you to that sticky thread to find how to win at POPLA. Anyway, ezerscrooge has now shown you where you should have been looking.I have read what seems to be pages of cases on the popla sticky thread and I am still non the wiser how best to approach my claim to popla.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
