credit card application not showing up on credit file

Last month I aplied for a Halifax credit card but got rejected. The search has not shown up on my credit file. I was wondering why this would happen. Could it be I was rejected on some criteria I had entered before the application got to search stage? or could the application not have gone through at all as I didn't receive and emails about the rejection etc?

You have more than one "credit file". Have you checked the others?


Yes it's possible that you were declined on a 'policy rule', but I'd have expected correspondence from them saying so.


But the best people to answer your question(s) are Halifax. Why not ask them?

Hi - I also got rejected and no search showed up on Experian which is the agency they claim to use. Unfortunately there is no point in writing to them as they will not tell you to "ensure that the process is impartial"
