Hello everyone,
I have a quick question to do with card and payment protection, Im 21 and about to apply for my 1st credit card, as im starting a full time job.
the cards im looking at are natwest ones, as thats the bank im with, but looking at the details I find they charge:
Card protection at £20 pa (Per annum)
and Payment protection at 79p per £100
Is this normal?
Do I need this to keep protected from fraud? And if not can i take it off?
Thanks

No you dont need it.
The card protection doesn't do much more than cancel your cards if you loose them... which you can do yourself.
The PPI is a total fraud.; is very expensive and raely pays out. If you are a very cautious person them look for similar protection on the open market ..at about a third of the price.
You can cancel the PPI (just phone and cancel) although I'm not sure about the Card protection unless you have a cooling off period..phone up and ask... but also check you haven't signed up on a recurring basis i.e. it will automatically renew next year..so cancel that at least.0 -
I agree with CLAPTON, don't take it.
