Anyone know if a completion certificate is required for an extension, inspector has been out for all but final check. Will it affect selling?

Could cause delays in completing the sale. Why not just get the work signed off?0

Think it might be a bit more than signing off, probably last bit or work had to be inspected, not sure how much that would cost, so I suppose the question should have been can I sell without last inspection.0

If the purchaser is buying with a mortgage. The solicitor handling the transaction will check that all necessary building and planning consents are present.0

As they aren't all present would that mean no sale at all or a big reduction or even selling as the size the house was before the extension was done?0

Seller will suggest the illegal structure be removed before he buys.....0

Seller will suggest the illegal structure be removed before he buys.....It's not all illegal, the last bit wasn't inspected but I'm worried to have an inspection [cost] then find it doesn't meet regs as I can't afford any fixes. Removing would mean reducing 3 bed house down to 2 but how do you remove without further cost?0

How old is the extension?
If you are just finished ... please, please, please get it signed off - it will make it easier for you to sell.0 -
It's less than 10yrs but was left unfinished for most of that time, just had the last bit done. May have to sell, so really wondering how much I would lose.0

Without completion most buyers would pull out / not make an offer and value would be as 2 bed0
