PayPal Dispute over NEW item.

I listed an item on ebay as a buy it now.
A member from ebay offered me a close offer and said he'd skip ebay to save fee's. (i posted here asking if it was safe)
This item was a brand new headset, gaming one and unopened.
2 Weeks on after he's been messaging me for a receipt so he can warranty it. (can be done without) he has now opened a PayPal dispute.
Claiming the item was not as described! This is 2 weeks on after he received it! It was completely fine. Do i have any leg to stand on? I'm so worried I've never been here before.

Better to understand a little than to misunderstand a lot.

Did you reply to his messages explaining he can warranty without a receipt.
Likelihood is Paypal will rule in his favour to send back tracked for a refund.0 -
Keep on top of the paypal dispute- check it often and keep responding.
It is likely that paypal will find in the buyers favour- but defend it as at least you can't get an ebay defect on this- so have nothing to lose.
If paypal find for the buyer he will have to return it if he wants a refund.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Never go off Ebay and take Paypal, fees are no concern of the buyer as they don't pay them - you do. That was your chance to add the person to your blocked bidder list, which hopefully everyone was telling you to do in your other thread.
Did you offer or suggest there was a warranty in your Ebay listing?
Manufacturers often only offer warranties to the original owner, with a receipt with product details. Warranties normally need a proof of purchase so the start date can be established
If you'd stayed on Ebay you would have a small chance of defending this, but you have no chance here I'm afraid, as Paypal will side with the buyer. Tell them to send it back as you won't and can't win the Paypal case.

The seller chose to send a payment request via Paypal. So your point is moot. He didn't want to block the buyer.Did you offer or suggest there was a warranty in your Ebay listing?

Depends. My last John Lewis purchase was registered online. No receipt needed, just the serial number of the item. And the warranty is transferrable. So it's not unlikely. If you'd stayed on Ebay you would have a small chance of defending this, but you have no chance here I'm afraid, as Paypal will side with the buyer. How so? Ebay and Paypal both lean towards the buyer. The chance for defending is the same. The item is either as described or not.0 -
OP can you apply for the warranty to send to your buyer?0
