best time to book ferry tickets

Hi,
we are going to France at the end of July 2015,probably using ld lines Portsmouth to le harvre,is there a particular time when the tickets are at their cheapest or is it just a matter of regularly checking the site.The tickets for next summer are not available at present.

If using Brittany Ferries the prices are fixed well in advance. PM me if you would like a 10% discount, also select midweek travel if possible.
Where are you thinking of going as Newhaven-Dieppe can be cheaper but I can't give a discount for them.

Thanks for the reply but we live 25 minutes drive from Portsmouth and will probably use ld lines to le Havre as they are about half the price of Brittany ferries,we are going to the vendee.

If you are planning an overnight crossing and want to book a cabin it is probably better to do it sooner rather than later as the cabins can all get booked of you leave it too late.

AFAIK ferries don't have cheap deals like flights sometimes do although I've never used LD lines just Brittany and P&O. I think the 'sooner rather than later' advice is good especially if you're wanting a cabin or taking a caravan with you.
